The steering committee is very important; their job is to make financial decisions for the project and to measure progress against the specific objectives, milestones, and deliverables of each work package. Another goal is to create metrics to assess the impact of the work. Members ensure that their own infrastructure members are well-coordinated. They are in charge of overseeing the consolidation of the various projects’ data-infrastructure requirements and developing a joint policy on issues. Finally, to monitor the sustainability of the infrastructure components being developed and to develop a plan for support following the completion of the grant.
